What Causes Acne? Chocolates? French Fries?

Acne prone individuals seem to get acne even if they strictly follow a no-oily-food diet. And there are some who eat away to their delight and never get into acne trouble.
So what causes acne?
Will you get acne if you eat a lot of chocolates? Or will you get more acne by eating French fries?
According to research, diet is not the direct cause of acne. The problem of acne can be traced back to several factors.
For example, I have seen many people who belong to a particular blood group and they are more prone to acne. A mother of acne prone son told me she and her daughter are A+ and they never get acne. Her son is AB+ and he is more prone to acne.
I found some corroboration for this from my own family too.
Sebacious glands produce sebum oil, which blocks pores and causes acne. Why do the glands produce more oil for some people while others are free of the problem?
There are a variety of factors, each inter-realted to produce a complex situation. So we cannot say any one reason is the cause of acne.
One example is stress. Because of stress, the body can create a substance called Cortisol and this Cortisol can cause the sebacious glands to increase the amount of sebum production.
Strenuous activity and sweating can increase oil production and that can cause acne.
The exact cause of acne is not known, but factors that contribute to this condition include heredity, oily skin and androgens. Additional factors include allergies, stress, the use of certain drugs, nutritional deficiencies, liver dysfunction, exposure to industrial pollutants, cosmetics and the monthly menstrual cycle.
