Have you ever been confused on which healthy diet plan us right for you? I think most of us have at sometime in our lives. From Atkins and South Beach to Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig everyone seems to have the right answer. Or do they. The only thing you know for sure is you are overweight. Which diet is the healthiest for you remain to be seen.
I think one problem is, we are all looking for the magic diet, and the secret that somehow has managed to escape us, when in all reality the secret is to use common sense and be safe and healthy. That does not mean starve yourself. It does not mean eat only meat or spend hundreds of dollars on pre-packaged foods.
A healthy diet plan is a long term approach to weight loss and maintaining your weight after you have taken it off. It reminds me of the saying “It is not hard to quit smoking…. I have done it a hundred times.” You might as well change that to “It is not hard to lose 10 pounds; I have done it a number of times.”
With each New Year comes a resolution to lose weight. Did you know that as many as 75% of all women between the ages of 25 to 54 decide to lose weight each year and 9 out of 10 do not get the results they desire, why is that? You can throw men in here as well although many of them never even try to lose weight to begin with.
In some ways quitting smoking is easier than coming up with a healthy diet plan. You only have to decide to quit smoking one time. That is it. I quit smoking. You have to decide what to eat many times a day. That is the downfall; there are just too many choices. Changing your lifestyle takes time and eating healthier takes time.
We all lead busy lives. We are put in different situations every day when it comes to eating and doing it in a more healthy way. Fast food, eating in a car or on the bus, not eating at all, and on and on we can go. To come up with a healthy diet plan is more than just signing up for a new diet plan. I hope you can find something that works for you. A long term approach to diet and exercise is much better than the newest diet fad of the year.
