Why Eating the Right Foods is Important & Foods to Avoid
article written by doc.
Eating the right food is essential to losing weight. On the one hand, you need to limit your calorie intake in order to burn off the fat. At the same time, you need to ensure that you are eating the right type of healthy foods.
Women need to consume at least 1200 calories a day. Here are some tips about the kind of foods you should consume, and those that you should avoid:
- Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables.
These are healthy and essential foods that will fill you up and provide the right vitamins and minerals. - Eat calcium-rich dairy products
Foods that are rich in calcium such as milk, cheese, yoghurt, etc actually act like fat burners. They increase fat breakdown in cells and help in losing body fat. - Eat nuts
Nuts help you feel full, provide essential Omega 3′s, and help the body’s fat burning capacity to increase. - Eat protein-rich food
Protein rich foods are excellent for burning belly fat. Protein requires more energy to be digested, so it helps in fat burning. - Eat plenty of fibre
Fibre is found in abundance in lentils. In addition, lentils help to stabilize blood sugar levels, and are great for burning belly fat. - Avoid alcohol
Alcohol increases your weight and fat storage. Even a 12 oz beer can increase your weight by 1.2 pounds. Alcohol tends to be stored by the body instead of being burned easily, so try to avoid it. - Avoid fatty meats
Although protein is good, some meats are loaded with fat. Especially bad are processed meats, and those labelled as having high fat content. - Avoid sugar
One of the keys to losing fat easily is to avoid sugary food. Sugar enters your blood stream quickly, and causes you to feel intense “crashes” where you feel tired easily and need to overeat to feel better. In addition, sugars tend to be broken down and stored as fat by the body. - Avoid fast food
Fast food is one of the fattiest, oiliest and most cholesterol-laden foods out there. One McDonald’s Big Mac 7.6 oz has 590 calories, of which more than 50% is from fat. A regular serving of French fries is 237 calories, of which 45% is from fat.
Reducing the amount of food is not sufficient to burn fat. Make sure your daily intake consists of the right foods that will help you burn fat, not those that will simply be broken down and stored as fat again.
